The City of Maastricht

Maastricht is the capital of The Netherlands' southernmost province of Limburg. One of the oldest towns in The Netherlands built upon pre-Roman foundations, it is now rapidly preparing itself for the future, as a national and international service center for the European Union. It is also the site of many International Institutions, such as the European Institute of Public Administration, European Centre for Development Policy Management, a branch of the United Nations University, the Center for European Studies, the Maastricht School of Management, and of course, Maastricht University.

Maastricht is centrally located in Europe and only some 200 kilometers (train: 2.5 hours) south of Amsterdam, 120 kilometers east of Brussels (train: 1.5 hours), a 5 hours drive (train: 3.5 hours) from Paris and 1 hour's flight (train: 4,5 hours) from London.
